Quantum Beez Sdn.Bhd. (formerly known as Open Source System Sdn.Bhd) welcomes another new comer to the company, Miss Maslinda Binti Idress as Business Development Executive.

On the last 17th April 2007, Quantum Beez Sdn. Bhd. (QB) had successfully setup an entry level 14-processor (28 cores) Bioinformatics High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster, for Veterinary Research Institute (VRI) located in Ipoh, Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The purpose of this paper is to share the knowledge and experience in setting up a Virtual Reality laboratory at Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL) City Campus in Shah Alam, Selangor. An overview of VR applications is first given, followed by a description of the Virtual Reality lab at UNISEL and our experience in setting up the lab until its full operations.

Quantum Beez Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with Malaysia Genome Institue (MGI) and Silicon Graphics,Inc.(SGI) organized a half day seminar at MGI. The seminar entitled Next Generation Genome Center and Bioinformatics Biosciences R&D was given by Dr Deepak Thakar who is Bioscience Segment Manager in SGI. Dr Deepak Thakar is responsible for the marketing of SGI solutions in the BioSciences market segment. He has a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical chemistry from West Virginia University, where he conducted research on developing oligonucleotide based therapies to knock-out breast cancer genes. Dr. Thakkar also has an undergraduate degree in pharmacy, from Bombay University, India.

Last Monday, Quantum Beez Sdn Bhd (QB) has organized its regular monthly Management Talk. As usual, Dr Azman Firdaus Shafii, Founder Chairman and CEO of QB took this valuable opportunity share his opinion and thought with his staff.
